Humanitarian Missions
Côte d’Ivoire Mission (July 2023)
In 2023, Kelicia traveled to Côte d’Ivoire, where she partnered with local organizations to improve access to education for young girls in underserved communities. The mission focused on:
Leadership programs: Organizing workshops to empower young girls with the skills and confidence to become leaders in their communities.
Cultural exchange: Building relationships with local leaders and fostering a cross-cultural exchange on issues of gender equality.
This mission was part of Kelicia’s ongoing commitment to creating sustainable change in educational systems and empowering young women across Africa.
This mission reached 60 people, including Girl Up Côte d’Ivoire members and the local audience, fostering education and advocacy for gender equality.
Kenyan Mission (July 2024)
In 2024, Kelicia’s mission in Kenya focused on working with schools and children’s homes to support educational initiatives and mentor young girls. The key objectives of this trip included:
Mentorship and leadership training: Empowering young girls with the skills necessary to pursue leadership roles in their communities.
Fundraising: Organizing campaigns to cover school fees for children in local homes, providing opportunities for underprivileged children to receive quality education.
These humanitarian efforts were integral to Kelicia’s mission of empowering young girls and ensuring they have the tools they need for success.
This mission impacted 550 girls across various regions, including rural areas like Kajiado and urban spaces like Nairobi. This experience highlighted the importance of reaching rural areas, where young girls often have the least access to resources.
By focusing on these communities, Kelicia aims to empower girls from zero to become leaders who can inspire and uplift others in their communities.
